- Amnesty International Malaysia launched the Malay version of Gender Awareness Manual this afternoon. The occasion was in conjunction with International Women’s Rights Day 2007 and AI’s ongoing global Stop Violence against Women (SVAW) campaign.
“The manual entitled Menjayakan Hak Menjadi Kenyataan:Bengkel Kesedaran Gender contains over 24 hours of ready-to-use workshop materials. It is designed for use by human rights educators and trainers working in the field of women’s rights.
This manual is published specifically to assist participants becoming gender aware and to take them beyond static awareness to a point of action. The manual is also designed to demonstrate awareness through actions and behavior.”
I had attended the meaningful occasion. A great effort by Amnesty International, which ought to be emulated by other non-wholly women organisations.
